“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”-Brené Brown
As a marriage and family therapist I utilize an integrated approach that melds trauma-focused, emotionally-focused, and attachment-based techniques. I provide warmth and empathy with emphasis on how your personal strengths, feelings, relationships, and adaptive coping skills work together to promote wellbeing. As a person, I’ve found that a combination of education, support, space to be human, humor, love, and connection are instrumental to healing.
I am a certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist. I also offer systemic, relational supervision for therapists in Minnesota working towards obtaining licensure within their respective field of study. My work is intentional in supporting parents experiencing depression and anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum, birth trauma, and infertility; working with couples; supporting families with children from birth to age six; and helping survivors of trauma. I have specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International; fertility counseling through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine; and in evidence-based approaches such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Circle of Security-Parenting (CoS-P), Mothers and Babies program, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
I look forward to connecting with you.
